IPtronics Responds to Avago's Patent Infringement Allegations
ROSKILDE, DENMARK, July 16, 2010 - IPtronics A/S, a leading edge company strategically focused on optical interconnects for the computer communications market, announced today that it will mount a vigorous defense against the claims of Avago Technologies Ltd., through its subsidiary Avago Fiber IP (Singapore) that IPtronics, and its Silicon Valley based subsidiary, infringe two Avago patents. The suit, filed on June 29, 2010, in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco, seeks unspecified damages and other relief.

"Providing state of the art technology and extraordinary pre- and post-sale support to our customers has been the key to the success of IPtronics in the marketplace. We are confident in our legal position, and we intend to continue to support our customers' needs and product requirements as they implement our break-through technology in a broad variety of performance enhancing products". Mr. Finseth added, "IPtronics has always welcomed fair competition in the marketplace, and we look forward to resolving this dispute with Avago to the benefit of the industry and ultimately the consumers and users of advanced technology products."
About IPtronics A/S
IPtronics is strategically focused on optical interconnects for the computer communications market and has developed a chip technology that enables low cost, low power and small size optical interconnect solutions that computer manufactures will adopt in next generation systems to overcome the physical constraints from using copper-based connections over high speed interfaces and backplanes.
Power consumption is the paramount challenge for mass deployment of optical interconnects in next generation computer systems and IPtronics holds the key technology to overcome this.
IPtronics works with leading module- and cable manufacturers in the US and Japan on the definition of next generation solutions for short reach optical interconnects, and is in close dialogue with leading super computer, server and router manufacturers to provide optical interconnect silicon enabling technologies that meet their cost, power and bandwidth targets.
