IPtronics opens a new office in Palo Alto, CA
In line with increasing momentum for Parallel Optical Interfaces, IPtronics expands to strategic geographies
IPtronics, a fabless semiconductor manufacturer, today announced the opening of new offices in Palo Alto, Ca. IPtronics will be setting up in the heart of the silicon valley to capitalize on the opportunities for parallel optical interconnects. Recently, IPtronics doubled office space at the Danish Headquarters and is currently strengthening presence in other US locations as well as Japan and Korea. "I am thrilled to see that we are establishing a local presence in our key markets. US and Japan are essential to our success. It is therefore important that we make it easy for our customers to work with us" says Jesper Bek, Director of Sales & Marketing.
IPtronics is a leading supplier of low power silicon for parallel optical interfaces. The low power 4 channel VCSEL Driver and TransImpedance amplifier chip set features the lowest power in the industry for next generation optical parallel transmission modules, subassemblies and active cables. IPtronics silicon currently enable module manufacturers in Japan, US and Europe to offer solutions dissipating less than 8mW/Gbps (for a transceiver solution), running at up to 12.5Gbps/channel.
The chip set from IPtronics will enable module manufactures to compete with existing solutions on mainly power dissipation, but also parameters such as cost, weight, EMI ao. Compared to copper links system manufacturers will experience power savings of a factor of 10. Compared to existing optical links, system manufacturers can expect 4 to 5 times lower power than modules currently available in the market place.
Former Managers, Innovators and Technical Staff from GIGA A/S, which was sold in 2000 to Intel Corporation for 1.25B USD, established IPtronics A/S in 2003. The team has a long standing history of leadership in the field of high speed chip design.
